He Walked by Night

The gritty crime drama, He Walked by Night, is available on DVD from the Roan Group, in full-screen format. Visually, this title is subpar, with washed-out grays and scratchy images. Although not up to normal DVD transfer quality, this title is still viewable, and fans of this genre probably can overlook the substandard visuals. Audio is provided in Dolby Digital mono, and is generally acceptable, but not great. Overall, this transfer is about as bare bones as one can get, with no extras, and not even a menu for scene selection. This interesting film cries out for a restoration, but until then, this version will have to suffice.
